Mexicans are super social beings.
I really appreciate that my dad's family makes a strong effort to spend time with each other. It's almost like if they were back in the villages. They get together every weekend, there's usually a party. When I mean party I mean a gathering with food, music and laughter. I went back home last weekend and it just happened to be my uncle's birthday.
The newest members of the family.
Birthday Cake Remix
I also appreciate that these parties don't have to be fancy or over planned. Here are the foods that we ate at my uncle's birthday:
-tres leches cake
My stomach was like 'Where they do that at?' by the time I got to the hamburgers.
My uncle's cake was really good, it was tres leches. Watch the video of him getting slammed into the cake.
Watch a video of my lab below! (boring a f to most people though)
I am in my lab right now and I am hungry as fuck.
This experiment has only worked like two times for me. My mentor says it needs to be perfect for my presentation. As much as it annoys me to admit it, he is right. This really does need to be perfect. After I finish this I will run back home and fix me something to eat. I haven't eaten out in forever. It's mainly because I am super poor right now. I will probably make an egg + turkey bacon + pepper jack cheese bagel because it is simple to make. Or if I am super lazy, I will just eat the bagel with vegetable spread or maybe just cereal. I really need to cook for tomorrow too. I started this experiment at six thirty, it is almost ten pm.
My family is going back to the mother country and my mom wanted to buy random little things to take with her. I love going to the flee market because it's always interesting. I was probably around eight or ten years old when I started coming here with my parents. Back then, things were different. The flee market was mostly frequented by traditional Americans. We came because the fried chicken was good. My parents love fried chicken. As more Mexicans settled in Kentucky, the market for Hispanic products and merchandise grew. I believe that the flee market was the most convenient venue for Mexicans to do business. Now there are African and Asian vendors at the flee market. I even have an aunt who has a booth here.

Here are some pictures of the Shelby County Flee Market.
This was was my second 5k race this year.
I ran it with the same two friends I did the first one with. I improved my time by two minutes. I was really happy because I didn't think I could do this. There were a lot of uphills too. Not to brag or anything because I know I ain't shit but during parts of the race I was like ' is this really me? '
This race was also at the Coldstream Park but the course was altered.
Here are some pictures of the Coldstream Park.
We went to get some food after the race.
It's All For Carles
I am not sure when my next race will be. I've always wanted to do the Midsummer's Night Run. I just know that my time has to go down again.
My friend recently participated in the Tough Mudder's race.
He was able to film it too.
Watch: TOUGH MUDDER Attica, Indiana 6/16/2012 June 16th, 2012 First Person Go Pro
I just watched the entire video and it is fucking awesome!
I am kinda hardcore regretting I wasn't able to go with him now. Watching Mig climb the walls was kinda funny. It was also funny when my friend looks down to the camera. It's cool that he was able to go underwater with it too. A stain appeared near the middle of the video but you can't really help that. Sometimes the stain looked like a heart. Some people were slipping, so you know it's real. That scene where the chick falls down and some guy helps her back up is movie material. I also like it when people are standing in front of the wall that seems difficult to climb. They are like, "where they do that at ?" It almost seemed like strangers were helping strangers. Those walls reminded me of when Mexicans have to cross the border to get to America. Speaking of Mexico . . . the terrain actually does kinda remind me a lot of the mother country. There are nets that catch and trap the participants too. Hmmm . . . suspect.
The music selection on the video was pretty good too.
Watching my friends do this inspired me to be healthier and more fit so that I can participate in similar events in the future.
A comal is a flat griddle typically used in Mexico to cook tortillas. The word “comal” comes from the Aztec Nahuatl word comalli.
I LOVE it when certain Hispanics look down on the indigenous.
Charles Darwin said it best.
"The country will be in the hands of white Gaucho savages instead of copper-coloured Indians. The former being a little superior in education, as they are inferior in every moral virtue" - Charles Darwin
Feliz cumpleaños Ye!
Even though I am not really feeling most of your new music and even though I am not feeling that new chick of yours, Kim K the broad, I still haven't forgotten how your music made me feel. Graduation is still your best album in my opinion. MBDTF is pretty good too, but that's not what I'm trying to say. I "felt it" and I connected with and understood your Graduation lyrics. That Kim K, you can do better Ye. She a hoe Ye. $750K on a gift though? Is that really you Ye?
I think this video was before his mother died.
Ye changed afterwards. I can't really blame him though. I do miss the old Ye though. :(
